Hallo Bernhard,

danke!

The search function told me this thread existed :-)

At this moment there is an advertisement on ebay for A. titanum seeds, 5 for 35 euro. From http://www.winniorchids.com/

Anybody experience with them?

Hi Willem,

I have no experience with the seller, but it he has offered in former times in cooperation with tindara1 at ebay - see:

http://web.archive.org/web/2010113008323…rare-plants.htm
http://feedback.ebay.de/ws/eBayISAPI.dll…0&mPg=19&page=3

The cooperation has ended, obviously...

However, if you are thinking of ordering seeds, you will definitely get nice US-grown titanum-seeds....

Happy ordering, Bernhard.

I think I'm going to do it. You won't find them much cheaper I think. And I also think it's better to get them from a source like this then from the wild.

Hi Willem,

good choice - but you have to hurry - only 2 lots left !

At least in this offer, but knowing how much seeds develop from one flower, I predict that there will come some more... ;)

Happy buying, Bernhard.

I tried this seller last year, when he also offered titanums. Fast delivery, well packed. But until now only one germinated. But the others still look fine.

He offers titanum seeds regularly. Perfect quality at a really low price (at least if you order directly from his website, don't know about the Ebay offerings). Every seed has started to germinate for me.

I ordered 5 seeds for 45 dollar, same price as on the website. Also very helpful and willing to answer questions. Will keep you updated.

Andreas,

how long did it take for the first and the second seed to germinate?
(You didn't mention when exactly you purchased the seeds last year...)

Happy growing, Bernhard.

Bernhard,

the seeds arrived here in October. The first one germinated in January, the second one now, so it took about 7 months.

A long time spread in germinating seems to be quite common in Amorphophllus. Last year in August i recieved some A. bolikhamiensis. The first ones germinated in January and have their second leaf meanwhile, but yesterday still some other germinates.

Two days ago the second A. declinatus germinated, bought last November, the first one was only three weeks ago.

My kiusianus from last September do not show any sign of germination. Alan told me that it can take up to two years until this species germinates.

Hi Andreas,

I notice a long germination time for Anchomanes at the momtent, too; I got som seeds in May, 2013 and they start to germinate right now....

So, folks, be patient when sowing species like this.......

Happy germintion, Bernhard.

Received the package with the Amorphophallus titanum seeds today from Winnipesaukee Orchids. Excellent packaging. Seeds look very healthy and they were also very quick in responding to emails.

Instead of 5 I received 8 seeds. Now it's up to me to take good care of them.

Moin zusammen.

LG Ronny
