Amorphophallus paeniifolius sprossen?

Wie viele Monat bis mein Amorphophallus paeniifolius sprosst? Es ist April, und die Temperatur ist 30C. Die Temperatur ist 8C in der Nacht. Viel dank!

How long will it be before my Amorphophallus paeniifolius sprouts? The tuber is 2.5cm. I planted it a few days ago. The temperature in the day is 30C and the temperature in the night is 8C. I keep it moist, but not wet, and I allow it to dry out a bit before watering again. Thank you!

It´s impossible to say, how long your plant needs to grow.
Does the tuber starts to grow, before you plant them into the pot ?

When the plant is still dormant, the tuber can rot in the pot.

Hi Amorphophallus,

Stephan is right; paeonifolius is very prone to rotting till the leaf grows and roots are formed.
It is highly recommended to keep the tuber unpotted and dry till the leaf bud grows and even better when root tips are visible around the central bud.

Just be patient.....

How can I tell if the tuber has rotted? Can I store it in the greenhouse where it gets hot, or should I keep it inside? How big does the bud have to be before I can plant it?

Store the tuber dry and not in the soil.

Put the tuber into the pot, when the roots starts to grow. That is what Bernard allready said.

I can´t see any roots on the base of the leaf bud.
And the leaf bud doesn´t looks like,that the tuber will grow.

I wouldn´t plant them yet.

Hi ????,

show a close up from the bud taken not from the side so that the base of the bud is visible.
Thats the only way to see if the bud is swelling already and then it normally shows a pink colour of the growing bud; and that is the sign that it wants to leave dormancy. Thereafter root tips will develop around the bud.
The four brighter spots outside the mark the old leaf left are not root tips.

If there are any they are only visible on a close up taken from top of the tuber...
