...I would appreciate it if you would take a picture of your sowing box with the heating pad...
Hi Daniel,
Your seedlings look great!
Sorry it took me so long, but I was really busy the last couple of days. I already took the pictures last Friday but just never managed to post them in the forum. Ok, so here they are. But again, nothing special about this. Its a pretty simple system I developed for my purposes that workes for me. I used to do this large scale with 100Watt - 300Watt heating cables and large boxes. But not with Amorphophallus seeds.
Picture 1 & 2: 18Watt heating pad and one of the boxes
Pic. 3: Top view inside the box
Pic. 4: Removal of the metal grille for cleaning purposes. One should change the water every couple of days and clean out the box to prevent fungus.
Pic. 5: You should watch the water depth, as this influences the temperature. An 18Watt heating pad has not much energy, so if there is too much water inside the bottom of the box, it will not heat up in your favor. On the other hand it will heat up too much if the water level is too shallow. So keep an eye on that.
Pic. 6: I drilled holes in the lid for gas exchange and air movement
Pic. 7: 3 small boxes fit on one heating pad. I have 3 heating pads running at the time.
The Amorphophallus gigas-seedlings vary greatly in size. Again, the pics are from last Friday, so they should be a little larger by now.

Pic. 9: Medium A. gigas
Pic. 10: Larger A. gigas
Hope this helps.
Cheers,
Julian
